Council of Colonels (CoC) Scholarship Background

The Council of Colonels represents a group of Alpha Brothers from the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha who matriculated through the Florida A&M University, Reserve Officer Training Corps or ROTC program. The Rattler Battalion, located in the historic Howard Hall building on highest of “Seven Hills”, is where their military leadership and management training began. Each of these select individuals achieved the rank of Colonel and the grade of 06. These outstanding leaders of soldiers who no doubt also learned key aspects of leadership and team work while pledging and doing good will once they crossed into the greatest fraternity known to mankind. While serving on active duty in the US Army, these Beta Nu Brothers performed exemplary at the highest levels in Command and Staff positions in their various branch specialties within different types of units.
